RECEIVE The CHIEF CORNERSTONE! Part II
SCRIPTURE: “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” 1 Peter 2:6 (NKJV)
Whether you live in a palace, a hovel, or a modest home with several years of interior neglect, the scriptural question is nonetheless relevant: “What will it profit a man, if he gains the WHOLE world, and loses his own soul?” (Mark 8:36) What other person on any list of great individuals knows the end from the beginning? (Isaiah 46:10) None of the world’s religious founders can or have ever claimed to be the Alpha and the Omega, or the Great ‘I AM!’ (Exodus 3:14; John 8:58) Who else can claim to be the Creator and ultimate Judge of the world and the sovereign Ruler over all the affairs of man? (Prov. 16:9; John 5:22) Who else can boast of knowing the details of every soul ever born or shall be born into this world? (Jeremiah 1:5; Gal. 1:15) Who else is so in tuned with ALL that happens in the world and the entire universe that the falling of a tiny sparrow to the ground does not escape His attention? (Matt. 10:29) Who else is so intimately acquainted with each of us that He knows the number of hairs on our head, or our date of departure from this earth?
This small list of some of the stupendous attributes of the true and living God merit our everlasting awe, devotion, and love. The greatness of Jesus Christ demands our whole- hearted daily embrace and reverence! Our divine appointment before Him one day will reveal the true level of greatness that we’ve ascribed to Him.
PRAYER: O, heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace which enables me to sing, “On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand—all other ground is sinking sand; all other ground is sinking sand!” AMEN!
