The Gift of Jesus

Weekends in the month of December will be devoted to scripture and prayer! Weekly devotions will resume Mondays through Fridays. Join us in Word and Prayer!
Scripture: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17
Prayer: Our eternal Father, we thank You so very much once again for the great gift of Your Son. Our hearts are filled with Joy knowing that because Jesus Christ, Your Son, has died on the cross for all of our sins, we can gather in this place with the full assurance of faith knowing that the sin issue, that separates man from You, has once and for all been dealt with. And all who believe sit in the full assurance that we are saved and can speak it with authority, because You said it first.  Now Father as we open your Word, we ask that you would bless us with spiritual understanding. We know that the entrance of Your Word gives us light, but it also works that sanctifying power, causes us to change. It causes us to see things differently. It ignites in us a vibrancy, Father, it causes us to know that the Words that You speak are Spirit and they are life. So bless us now and when it’s all said and done, we will be careful to give You all the praise and all the honor and all the glory, for we ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

More than 2,000 years ago Jesus was the gift that was unpackaged for some 33 odd years until the fulfillment of the gift was realized at the cross-our redemption. Thanks be to God for His redemption plan through the Gift of Your Son, Jesus.
