I Am Gifted! pt1
Scripture: "There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:” 1 Corinthians 12:4-7
As a believer, each one of us has been given the Holy Spirit as a guarantee. In addition to the Holy Spirit, we have been given one or more spiritual gifts. These gifts are to be lived out, not kept to ourselves, and used to encourage or edify one another. For the next five days we will be introducing a few Spiritual Gifts with a brief description of that gift and examples of how that gift is applied.
GIFT OF ADMINISTRATION: 1 Cor. 12:28 - to steer the body toward the accomplishment of God-given goals and directives by planning, organizing, and supervising others (Greek Word: kubernesis - to steer, guide, helmsmen) (EXAMPLE: Christian Education, Leadership, Staffing, Staff Support)
GIFT OF AN APOSTLE/PASTOR: Eph. 4:11; 1 Cor. 12:28 - to be sent forth to new frontiers with the gospel, providing leadership over church bodies and maintaining authority over spiritual matters pertaining to the church (Greek Word: apostolos - 'apo'=from 'stello'=send; one sent forth)/Eph. 4:11 - to be responsible for spiritually caring for, protecting, guiding, and feeding a group of believers entrusted to one's care (EXAMPLE: Cross-Cultural, Missions, Other Outreach, Visionary, Leadership, Shepherding)
GIFT OF DISCERNMENT: 1 Cor. 12:10 - to clearly distinguish truth from error by judging whether the behavior or teaching is from God, Satan, human error, or human power (EXAMPLE: Apologetics, Spiritual Warfare)
Prayer: Dear Jesus, I have believed in you and know that I am saved. I have read the scriptures and the description of these gifts, Jesus, please show me my gifts. I believe by faith that these gifts are what You, who have known me before the foundation of the world, have specifically for me to do. Please show me Jesus, I want to be a good steward over what You have entrusted me. Amen.
