As Men Count Slowness

   My husband recently confessed having glossed over the instructions to an important apparatus needed for our home.  Humbly, he told me that he had to go back and redo this entire project because he had too hurriedly scanned the manufacturer’s written instructions.  (Happens to me all the time; just ask him)!
 
  Without a doubt, signs and instructions, variously revealed-- have always played a major role in the world, from the dawn of humankind until the present.  We equate signs with warnings, and instructions with specific guidelines, don’t we?  Adam and Eve received humanity’s very first warning:  to not eat fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  God so loves us that He verbalized to earth’s first man and woman, at the outset of HIS-story,  HIS divine instructions! We grieve His Spirit when we downplay, neglect, or through disbelief,  totally disregard the principles, multiple testimonies, and warnings He has given in His Word.  No wonder our communities, our nation, and the world are in such turmoil, and the enemy’s having a perpetual “field day!”

     Humankind has tossed out the “Rule Book” (the Bible) and “gone rogue!”  We’ve seen individuals, institutions, governmental, educational, and quite a few theologians operating under the BANNER of “Christianity” functioning like a multifaceted mob of mischievous (devilish is more like it) juveniles who’ve gone throughout society over the past few generations turning all the “street signs,” (aka scriptural principles and guidelines revealed in the Holy Bible) upside down, and removing others entirely!!  Oh, but dear child of God, there is coming a day when “the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough ways smooth…,” says Luke 3:5.  So resist all fretting, frustration, and disillusionment over the injustices and evil you see mounting in this world.  Daily remember—“OUR citizenship is in heaven, from which we EAGERLY WAIT FOR A SAVIOR, the Lord Jesus Christ (Phil. 3:20)!  Man has long discarded the Creator God’s Rulebook, but He has always had a remnant who do not equate El Shaddai’s seeming delays with pointless indifference.

PRAYER:  Oh, Abba, You know those who are Yours.  You have graciously persuaded us of Your holiness and our continual need of Your tender mercies!  While we await Your promised GREAT DELIVERANCE, grant us Your strength to persevere.  Thank You, Father, in Jesus’ precious name; amen!
