AN ENDEARING LOOK INTO THE GOSPEL OF JOHN

Scripture: John 20:30-31 NKJ  “And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these things are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”
The Holy Bible is a universal book. It is by no means an ordinary book; but a collection of sixty-six books. The Gospel of John is but one book of the sixty-six books. This is God’s Word that is able to change one’s life from the moment he/she reads and believes. There lies between the pages a concern of life and death. You, my friend, and you alone can make that decision of which one.

Perhaps you have not read much of the Bible. The Gospel of John of the New Testament is a good place on which to fix your heart and mind. The Holy Bible is a spiritual book, and only those who have been “born again” can grasp an understanding of what is read. The Helper: The Holy Spirit which the Father sends will teach you all things (John 14:26).
The obvious writer of the Gospel of John is the Apostle John. John identifies himself as the disciple Jesus loved. He spent time with Jesus, and he is known as an eyewitness to Jesus’ ministry (John 1:14, 19, 34).

The Gospel of John can show its reader how to be “born again” and believe that Jesus is the Christ and receive “new” life in Christ.  As written, one might read and “believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:30-31). This book of John weighs heavy on words. “God so loved.… world… perish… eternal life, born again… Son of God… grace… Lamb of God… new life… Word… worship, and receive” are among many words and phrases. Such words make the Gospel of John so spiritually endearing. Apostle John also writes, “in the beginning” as he starts this gospel. He reaches back to the beginning of the Scripture. (Gen. 1:1).

Prayer: Lord, You have been so faithful from generation to generation. Thank You for giving the Gospel of John to children of men. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
