The Residual of a Biblical Effect

SCRIPTURE:  2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
I made a choice for a new life
Access was granted once I accepted Christ;

Some things are removed, and some things will remain
I’m born again, changed, and I will never be the same;

I’m grateful and aware of the residual effects
Favor from the Lord, who is good and perfect;

Although I am new, I am still in old skin
A witness to where I am, compared to where I’ve been;

Now, I can testify about His amazing grace
A transformation from His hands, solidified by faith;

He’s changing my attitude, associates, and conduct over time
Yet, my gifts, strengths, and abilities are realigned and sanctified;

The things I use to entertain and enjoy are no longer a desire
My appetite for the world has decreased for things that are higher;

Some things were added, some things were subtracted
My lifestyle is fixed on what’s biblically permitted and attractive;

Day by day what was good to me has passed and faded away
What I relied on before is nullified by the Lord’s truth and way;

Therefore, I’m grateful for what was removed and  leftover
The residual of a biblical effect has permission to take over.

Prayer: Lord, I didn’t see this coming. The way I used to live is slowly but surely dying. Most were leading me to destruction. However, You chose me and accepted it. Strengthen me to never turn back. Your grace and mercy serve as my lifeline. You have kept me, cleansed me, and made me new. Thank You, Lord! In the name of Jesus. Amen!
