CONSULT THE 'WHUH' ?

Scripture:  Proverbs 6:6-11 -  "Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provideth her meat in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.  How long wilt thou sleep, O'  sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travaileth, and thy want as an armed man."

I believe this proverb invites us all to consider the ant as it behaves independently, as well as how it behaves as a community, devoted to do, and be, as it was designed without distraction or dilution of purpose or personality. It is devoted, and despite the appearance of change in climate or the fluctuating of experiences, ants will be ants. In their manner they have a limited range of expression without much deviation, and function seemingly without tiring as a unit.
The writer prompts us to appreciate the ant as an example of that which, though slight of stature, shows an energized dedication to do what is needed- to heed the call, and to be diligent as a  part of the tribe, for the sake of the tribe. 'Retreat' is not in the ant dictionary, nor is 'retire' in their vocabulary. [figuratively speaking]
To borrow from a popular phrase of olde, theirs is to 'Live a great life, and to die a great death'. With that, they are a powerfully-endowed presence.
And the trail for that, for believers is "The best is yet to come!"

"Live a great life, and die a great death." is a suitable banner for  anyone in Christ, with the life of Jesus as a perfect and perfecting example to know, and to grow by!
That is the heart of worship! That is wisdom gleaned rightly!
And the light 'at the end of the tunnel' is the same light abiding within our hearts. Can I get an 'Amen'! The best is yet to come.

"'For I know the plans I have for you', declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"
Jeremiah 29:11
"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God."
Romans 5:1,2
"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: Rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving."
Colossians 2:6,7

Prayer: Lord, I thank You, for Your abounding and abiding grace. Lead my thoughts down memory lane to be affixed with how You've shown up for me, and let me be cleansed of doubt as I might be refreshed upon Your promises. I purpose to set my gaze high, letting be wings, that heavenly rest which I am destined for, because of Your passion to forgive!
I pray for the steps taken today, to bless You, upon Your faithfulness towards me, a rock which will not fail. Help me to stand, Lord, 'ant-strong' to the praise of Your glory. Amen.
