Morning Prayer

Scripture: Psalm 143:8 Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.

Lord! Thank You for waking me up on this beautiful morning
I seek You as I open my eyes, even before I start yawning

The alarm clock sounds off, but You awakened me from my sleep
Clearly, Your plans and purpose for me will continue for others to see

Before, I have the audacity to make any requests or petitions
Everything must be second for the Lord to get my undivided attention

My morning priorities should not be my spouse, family, job, or phone
My sacrifice and commitment must be spending time with the Lord, alone

How else could I find out my daily assignment?
Seeking first the Kingdom of God establishes my alignment

Now, I can address my indiscretions, transgressions, and iniquities
I sin against the Lord only, so I’m praying that He’ll forgive me

In order to be used, He must create in me a new heart
Fixing my eyes on the Lord in the morning establishes my part

Thanking Him for what He is doing, and has already done
Acknowledging His grace is sufficient to sustain and overcome

So now, I can have my coffee and continue with the day
Asking the Lord for righteous directions so I can walk His way

Prayer: Lord! It’s necessary to start my day with You. I no longer live for myself. So, I need your direction. I’m grateful for Your availability, reliability, and capabilities. I’m honored to call You, my Father. It’s because of You, that I wake up every day. Bless You, Father, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
