Huh! I Can’t Hear You!

Scripture:  James 1:21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

Lord, I simply can’t hear You
There’s no clear service that comes through

Maybe I am not in the right position
The signal is low with poor and weak reception

I am guilty of allowing distractions to worsen conditions
My heart has hardened with an unwillingness to listen

Lord, tell and show me the barriers that block Your voice
Have You chosen to be quiet or are these troubles my choice?

My child, there are multiple things You hide behind
I’m not heard due to Your fear, bitterness, and pride

You are living as if you can maintain and sustain yourself
Too prideful to surrender, and call on my name for help

Entertaining your fears of what my demands are
Scared to make me first, so you will remain the star

 Holding on to past hurts, grudges, and resentments
When spoken to, Your heart and ears are covered with defenses

I hear you now Lord, I’m starting to get a clear reception
I humbly accept Your voice, please save my soul from evil deceptions

Prayer: Lord, I’ve created obstacles and distractions that clog my ears. That’s the reason I am not able to hear. Please remove what’s not of You and replace them with Your grace and mercy. You are worthy of so much more. Forgive me Father! Speak to my heart! I’m asking in the name of Jesus. Amen!
