Erye Lil Ting Gwine Be Awright (Part 2)

Text: Psalms 34:15, 17-18 - "The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and His ears are open unto their cry...
The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit."
Ruth 1:16 - "And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, AND THY GOD MY GOD..."
The question isn't 'What did Ruth see, feel, hear, smell, or taste to have her decide differently from Orpah?'. The question is 'How amazing is it, that God would provide the means for this single Moab woman to be brought out of Moab, to a new land, and have family, wealth, property, and legacy? How amazing is it that she received such favor?'
Simply, God 'knew'.
At the tail-end of the story we can see, across differing dynamics, and affections throughout it, how our Naomi, Orpah, and Ruth [synonymous with the Three Little Birds perched on our doorstep] may offer a very certain report of God's grace, and how He personalizes outreach to the many, if not to all, and how our song to come of it harmonizes interdependently to make 'sweet melody' when we recognize just that, down to the 'Erye Lil' Ting'.
And whether it is a loftier work to handle the gigantic things, or the nearly invisible and mutable many microscopic matters, it is the manner of God to manage, omnipotence and omniscience characterizing Him. Every little thing making up every big thing, in God's hands, will be handled justly. Therefore everything is going to be alright.
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called, and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified. What shall we say then to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:28-31
Sometimes when we are going through 'it', there is that feeling that things are not alright, and at the extreme maybe that God is uncaring, or even unaware, or perhaps, absent. We may even run with our feelings to consider, just maybe, He is aware, and present, and is simply being mean, bringing harm for the sake of harm. Like Naomi, we can become distracted towards bitterness, or like Elimelech do what seems right by our own estimation, or perhaps like Orpah lean upon conventional wisdom. Ruth, however, had it in her to be submitted and committed to see the faithful move be, even though I suspect it would not have always felt so right. She subjected her feelings to the call. We are not given the answer to "Why Ruth?" Why not Ruth? Why not us? God wills, as He will. Just be ready [with faith].
At the end we see many elements behind the evolution of joy in these lives, mirroring ours, as the providence of God is responded to.
So whether you are Ruth-ish, Naomi-esque, or Orpah-like in your evolution to joy, know that it ain't over, til it's over... know that there is a "but God..." upon your path.
"For of Him, and through Him, and to Him are ALL things: to whom be glory forever. Amen." Romans 11:36
"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ..." Philippians 1:6
"Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it." 1 Thessalonians 5:24
God's special outreach today is often recognized by special moments, memorialized, and Shavuot [Festival of Weeks-Seven weeks] and Pentecost [fifty days] often are highlighting the witness to providence with the reading of 'Ruth' in the synagogues. Practically God blesses providentially by the ending of the barley harvest with the wheat harvest starting. God blesses across agriculture. [Remember Ruth gleaning of the sheaves of Boaz's land] Spiritually the remembrance connects with the giving of the Torah [the Word] and the receipt of the same by the people- seven weeks from Mt. Sinai, to the hands of the people via Moses. Now also remember 3,000 perished favoring idolatry in the form of a gilded bull, but also as Pentecost is recognized, recall how during the time of Pentecost in Acts 2, the Holy Spirit was given with wondrous signs, and how many were saved- 3,000. Many christian denominations recognize Pentecost as being the beginning of the church, with the unique expression of the Holy Spirit in history, to be 'received'. It is remarkable to have expressed the receiving of the Law, and the receiving of the Spirit, at the same time, though centuries separated the two in history. One could consider these as parallel and complementary occurrences, though coincidence would be a stretch. One might consider these two as co-equal signals. Ain't God good!? Looking closely, it's all about restoration and redemption, from a God who is 'holy', and, as scripture attests, a God who is 'love'.
"He that loveth not, knoweth not GOD; for GOD IS LOVE. In this was manifested the love of GOD toward us, because that GOD sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him." 1John 4:8,9
With normalcy unraveling in such a peculiar, frequently confusing, tribalistic and assertive way now, what better time to take the opportunity to share such a One as Jesus?
"For by a single offering HE has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified."
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for HE who promised is faithful."
Hebrews 10:14,23
And that is better than alright!
Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus and Author of life, we know, as it has been shown in Your Word, that PRIVATELY WE TUMBLE, but that thankfully in light of mercy, we understand PROVIDENCE WILL TRIUMPH, for indeed PROMISE WORKETH TOMORROW and PATIENCE WRITETH TODAY; [PERSUADE-us WHEN TEMPTED toward doubt]. The message of grace is that blessing PERMITS WITHIN TIME, our highest being and becoming, PURSUANT WITH TRUTH, PRESSING WITHIN TROUBLE, PUSHING WITHOUT TREMBLING, and PRAYING WITH TRUST. I pray PERSEVERANCE WINS TODAY... though pleasure's wooing tickles, and pride's whispers, test. I choose to abide.
It is a PRECIOUS WORK TAKEN to then rest it all upon Your sovereign, and perfect, and perfecting reach to complete us...by which we PERSONALLY WITNESS TO-everyone;
seeing PAGES WILL TURN, [PROMPTING WISDOM'S TREASURES], and PREACHING WILL TOUCH: again PROVIDENCE WILL TRIUMPH!
And so, having such within our hands, and such as well upon our lips- PERFECTING WORD, TAKE-'em!
Indeed, Word of truth prevail, and lead me to know, and share,
and show the Heart within my heart, and the Spirit within my soul, my self being given to give. Yea, let there be Light! And PREVAILING WORD, TESTIFY!
Thy will, Oh God, be done. Amen.
And, oh yes... ask Bruh Cleve about the 'P.W.T.' thing.
