God’s Fingerprint – The Living Word

Scripture: Genesis 1:26-27 - And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Ephesians 2:8-10 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made by God as it says in Psalms 139:13-14. God has divinely fingerprinted/designed us! God created us in His own image (Genesis 1:26-27). Therefore, we each have intrinsic value. Our worth is not based on race, ethnicity, economic status or physical appearance. (Romans 8:29, I Corinthians 15:49, II Corinthians 3:18; Ephesians 4:24). He designed us so that we would have a personal relationship with Him through His only begotten Son – Jesus Christ (John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10). Before we invited Jesus Christ into our lives, we tried to fill the void that was in our lives with different things like material things, sex, food, drugs, success, occupation, or fame. Regretfully, many people are still trying to fill that void with worldly things instead of filling their lives with God’s Word and surrendering their lives to the Lord. (Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.)
When I became a Child Care Provider in 1998, one of the requirements was to have a criminal background check. I went to CJIS to at that time get the inked fingerprints. One time the ink smudged on my fingerprint card, and I had to get the fingerprint done over again. Our fingerprints are from God, and they can’t be smudged! Now, thankfully, fingerprints are done digitally. God made/created us, and each of us have different fingerprints; but we all have 66 lines on our thumbprint. Even identical twins don’t have the same fingerprints. Our fingerprints are God’s artwork! We are very unique, and God has a specific plan and purposes for us! Philippians 2:13 - For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. We are His workmanship/handiwork (Ephesians 2:10)! Remember, God gave us a fingerprint that no one else has, and we can leave an imprint that no one else can. Let us be kind to one another, love one another, encourage one another, and share the gospel wherever we go – being led of the Holy Spirit!!!
In appreciation/love for what Christ (who is the Word in flesh) has done for us on the cross, we should do whatever He leads us to do with the right attitude and motive – and with our whole heart. John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. I Corinthians 15:3-4 - For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. Psalms 119:10 - With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Colossians 3:23 - And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father: I am so grateful that I have a personal relationship with You (through the Living Word – Jesus Christ), and that You have forgiven me of my sins. Your fingerprint is upon my life. You made me unique – and that I am Your handiwork, workmanship. Help me to hide Your Word in my heart (Psalms 119:11). Help me Lord to always choose to do what pleases You with my whole heart and with the right motive and attitude. All this I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
