Lost

Scripture:  Luke 19:10 NKJV - “… for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Imagine your life without God … I can’t! I know that without Him, I am lost! Here’s another thought: what if The Father never sent His Son to die in our place? Oh! What a (worse) mess we would be! God’s Holy Word tells us more than once just how much God loved us. He loved us so much (no matter how much of a mess we were/are/will be) that He sent His ONLY Son, that whoever believes in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life! (John 3:16) But He didn’t stop there – He placed Himself in us, The Holy Spirit! He chose to dwell in us, knowing that we would be disobedient, dirty with sin, full of things that aren’t like Him. WOW! I don’t know anybody that would lay their life down for me, knowing that I would never measure up to their (human) standards, do you?

The Son of Man didn’t some to condemn us, He came to ‘seek’ us out, save us from ourselves and the slave market of sin and save us to bring Him glory! On my best day, I am still a wretch undone – disobedient, impatient … and the like. HELLO SOMEBODY! It’s ok … just say Ouch & Amen! (glad we are all on one accord, lol!) But He knew I would be the way that I am – past, present, future – and He still pursued me and accepted me into His family! Then, He keeps creating opportunities for me to use the gifts He gave me to edify the body of Christ, to bring Him more glory!

Ok wait … lemme say it this way: if your employer tells you to do something (within reason, let’s keep it legal here) and you don’t do it, nine times outta ten, there’s gonna be consequences to your disobedience (insubordination). So why don’t we give God – the only Sovereign God … the only living God … everlasting, ever-loving, ever-giving God – the same respect and attention? God gave His Son up … just for me! Well for the whole world but sometimes you gotta make it personal. All He asks is that we represent Him well – live a life worthy of His praise, honor and glory!

Jesus came seeking us out – the lost ones. He came with God’s purpose in mind, to be about His (our) Father’s business. Now that we are found, it’s our job to make the Boss proud! Ask Him to show you how you can fulfill His calling in/on your life. Ask Him to show you how to win other lost souls to Christ … just by testifying to others about how you were once lost, but now you are found – in Him!

Prayer: God, You are beyond any word we could use to describe You! You are truly INDESCRIBABLE! Thank You for loving us to the point of Your own Son’s death! Thank You for saving us from so many things, even ourselves and other people. Thank You for giving us chance after chance after chance to get it right … even though we still fall short and fail You. Thank You for keeping us, even when we don’t wanna be kept. Thank You for continuing to pursue us, seeking us out, pouring into us so that we can pour out into others. We count it a privilege and an honor to be called Your children! Forgive us for not taking our job (kingdom assignment) seriously. Forgive us for not representing You well. And thank You in advance for how You are going to continue using us to Your glory! In Jesus’ Name we always pray … AMEN!

Amen, Sis.! “T’is better to be born twice and die once, than to be born once and die TWICE!” to quote an old bumper sticker.🙏🏽
