God Winks

Scripture:  Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

When we nourish our heart, mind and body with the Word of God, we enforce the knowledge of God’s love and faithfulness. We are NOT easily offended; we do not stray or separate ourselves from what we know the Lord has called us “to”.  God, in His infinite Wisdom and Love desires that we grow to be more and more like His Son, the Lord Jesus.  Therefore, when we get discouraged, he gives “God winks”.  As I child, my cousins and I were  blessed to be surrounded by a big family who were full of laughter and love.  However, occasionally, one of us would get disciplined; and nothing could fix a crying down heartened spirit like a wink. I remember.  It would come at the time I (a kid) most needed it.  It was the very act required to take my mind off of the pop in the mouth I just received from my Mom.  It made me feel warm and loved again.  It meant that my fault would not be forever held against me.  I feel just like that (as an adult) after or during a low moment, I can read a passage of scripture such as, Ps. 94:18-19, When I thought, “My foot slips,” Your steadfast love, O LORD, helped me up.  When the cares of my heart are many, Your consolations cheer my soul.  The Lord gives a wink in His Word just for us to feel accepted “again”.  He wants to restore us and let us know that His love is far greater than any sin we can ever commit.  Can you recall a God Wink?  Here are some more of mine:

John 16:33 – In the world you will have tribulation.  But take heart; I have over the world.”

Phil. 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:31-33 – What then shall we say to these things?  If God is for us, who can be against us?  He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?  Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect?  It is God who justifies.

Rom. 8:35 – Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?  Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?...v. 37 – Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Rom. 8:38 - For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rev. 22:20 – He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly.  Amen.  Even so come, Lord Jesus.

Prayer:  God, thank You for Your Word and its restoring power.  In this life we can look around and become so discouraged that we begin to doubt if we are able to withstand all of our fiery darts.  But You have a plan, and that plan is for us to grow and prosper.  You are willing that we all grow and prosper in all of Your provisions and benefits.  We thank You for the agility in and through Your Word.  Continue to lead and direct us to sustain and maintain even through the pits and holes of life meant to overtake us.  Thank You for Your winks of encouragement and love.  In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
