Not Another Password!

Scripture: Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
No matter your age, passwords are a thing but if you are still apart of the workforce, passwords are not just a thing, they are a THING! Truthfully, for many, passwords are the bane of their existence. You need a password to access your finances, a password to get into your phone, your computer, and sometimes your house. Moreover, this password must be at least 8 characters and contain a capital letter, a number and a special character and it can’t be similar to the last 10 passwords you have created prior…Good grief, Charlie Brown. For many, they have multiple passwords for different programs and the cyber security people say that we should not use the same password for all programs. Well, I’ll admit, I use the same password for everything. I can barely remember my work phone number and you want me to now remember 15 different passwords, with at least 8 characters including a capital letter, a number, and a special character…not happening. The cyber security people say, don’t use your birthday or your children’s names. They say, it should be hard to crack but easy for you to remember so do something fancy like: Johnnie Loves Reindeer Games (JLRG287#ch). Now, that’s not easy at all. So, for the last decade, I have attempted to have creative ways to create passwords. I have tried creating 12 passwords and when it is time to change my password, I just cross off the one I’m using and go to the next. By the time I reach password number 12, I can start at the beginning again. I tried using events and situations but it has always been a challenge. One day when tasked with changing my password again I heard, keep your mind on the things above and boom I had my new password. Since then, I have decided to use scripture addresses as my passwords. As a result, I will never run out of password options. For me this was perfect, because although I may be able to quote a scripture, I struggle with remembering the address. Another problem solved. As a result, I select a verse I want to memorize, that becomes my new password, and it always meets the password criteria. Furthermore, every time I type my password, I recite the verse and of course the address and yes, I type my password often. There are so many ways to keep the Lord and His Word relevant during your day. There are so many ways to keep your mind on things above. Honestly, creating passwords was an unnecessary stressor in my life and the Lord solved it. He completely removed that burden while strengthening me spiritually. To God be the glory and the great things He does.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for solving even the smallest of problems. Thank you for reminding me that I should keep my mind on You and giving me a great way to do. Lord, there are so many times during the day that my mind may stray but You have even solved that. Thank you, Lord for guiding me; You are truly a lamp unto my path and when I follow Your light I am never lost. Thank you, Lord, for Your Son, Jesus the Christ who died for my sins and then rose so that I might live. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.
