Come-to-Jesus Moment

Scripture: Matthew 4:16 (AMP) - The people who were sitting (living) in [spiritual] darkness have seen a great Light, and for those who were sitting (living) in the land and shadow of [spiritual and moral] death, upon them a Light has dawned.
Are you familiar with the phrase, ‘a come-to-Jesus moment?’ The first part of one online definition says that it’s “an epiphany in which one realizes the truth of a matter; a sudden intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something.”
Most people seldom stop to seriously consider the second part of that online definition: “coming clean and admitting failures; realizing the true weight or impact of a negative situation or fact.” The fact that “ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God” certainly includes ALL of us in that “negative situation” into which each of us was BORN, doesn’t it? (Rom. 3:23) Those who connect that CTJ definition to the Gospel, however, are on the RIGHT PATH to recognizing their need for crying out to God for the precious salvation only Jesus can provide! All who come to Jesus, indeed, have had their eyes opened to understand that they’d been, from the time of their biological BIRTH, in a “negative situation,” with no man-made solution (i.e., no “churchianity”) or record of good works, to rescue them from the fact of divine condemnation at the end of this earthly life! (Romans 5:12)
If you, dear reader, have prayerfully invited Jesus the Christ into YOUR heart to be YOUR personal Savior and Lord, you are deemed by Him to be a child of the King, as God describes such souls in John 1:12. Having believed His Word, you can humbly and gratefully declare that you are aware of at least one great miracle in this life! Your new birth and mine did not involve us making a long arduous journey to find the Christ’s location in a lowly manger in Bethlehem; rather, He found US in a specific moment and place in time, convinced us of our LOST condition, (AND fully deserved destination, i.e., Hell), and INVITED us to exchange it for HIS perfect righteousness! (Jn. 3:7; Romans 10:9, 10; 2 Corinthians 5:21) Now believing THESE facts, dear one, constitutes a REAL COME-TO-JESUS moment—the one for which you will be ETERNALLY GRATEFUL!
Prayer: Dear Father, as in the question posed in that classic hymn titled “How Firm A Foundation,” [slightly modified] what more can [You] say than to [us] You have said—to us who for refuge to Jesus have fled? Thank You for Your precious salvation! In Jesus’ name I humbly pray. Amen!
