These Boots Were Made for Walking

Scripture: John 8:12 - I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
Walk in the light, the beautiful light. Come where the dew drops of mercy shine bright. Shine all around us by day and by night. Jesus the light of the world.
Oh, what a powerful song. It is simple and clear. As Believers, we should definitely walk in the beautiful light of Jesus. This song directs us clearly. It leads us toward the light and that light is Jesus. Oftentimes, Believers talk about how to walk the “Christian” walk; when in reality, where we are walking is just as important as how we walk. The Bible directs us to walk toward and in the light. We are told to walk in the light so we don’t stumble (Psalm 56:13). We should walk in the light so we will be blessed (Psalm 89:15). We should walk in the light instead of darkness (Isaiah 9:2). But ultimately, we should walk in the light of Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life (John 8:12) So, grab your boots and walk toward the light.
I know that faith is easy when everything is going well; but can you still believe in Me when your life’s a living Hell
While we are walking toward the light we must remember to also walk by faith. Faith is the complete trust and confidence in God. Hebrews 11:6; says that without faith it is impossible to please God; for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Believers must trust God. They must have complete trust and confidence in God. Proverbs 3:5 says, trust in the Lord will all your heart and lean not to our own understanding. This simply says that we walk by faith not by sight. When Believers walk by faith, they can truly rest in Romans 8:28 because they have complete confidence that the Lord always has their best interest at heart even during adversity. The Believer that walks by faith knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. So, grab your boots and start walking by faith toward the light and then let that light shine so brightly that others desire what you have.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for being a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path so that we know where to walk. Thank you, Lord, for not only teaching us how to walk but where to walk. Lord, we know that light exposes darkness and where light is darkness is not. Forgive us Lord for the times that we sought out darkness instead of light. Thank you, for deliverance, forgiveness, grace, and mercy. Without Your guidance we would be engulfed in darkness, lost and continuously searching for peace, happiness, and joy. Thank you, Lord, for saving us, for giving us Your only son to die once for all sinners. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
