No Booster Needed
Scripture: 1 Peter 3:19 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.
As the Coronavirus (COVID 19) continues to mutate, there are talks about whether vaccinated people need a booster shot. A booster shot is an additional shot of the COVID-19 vaccine. It is intended to add additional coverage to people who have already been fully vaccinated. During these talks doctors and scientists got together and discussed who would need a booster, the benefits of getting a booster, the cons of getting a booster, and the necessity of a booster. The general consensus is that in order to stop the virus from spreading a certain percentage of the population must be vaccinated and all or some of those vaccinated people may need a booster shot.
The need for a booster shot has been met with contention from some people. Those people argue that they already received two shots and they were assured (at that time) that the vaccine would protect them from this deadly virus. Moreover, many believed that getting the vaccine meant not being able to contract the virus at all. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. The fact is, the vaccine that was created to protect people from COVID may need some help keeping people COVID free. Consequently, there are many things in life that need boosters or help to make it better; but not Jesus. Jesus died once for all. The Bible tells us in Romans 6: 10, that when Christ died, He died to defeat the power of sin one time (No Booster Needed). Although, sin is continuous; the defeat of sin was a one and done event. Hebrews 9:28 says that Christ was offered as a sacrifice one time to take away the sins of many people (No Booster Needed). Jesus was obedient unto the cross and because of this believers are made holy through the sacrifice of His body. And Christ made this sacrifice only once for ALL time (Hebrews 10:10-12). Because of those truths, if you have Christ, you have everything you need (no booster needed).
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being everything that I need. Thank You, Lord, for salvation that is one and done. Forgive me Lord, for grieving You, for sometimes taking Your new mercies for granted. I don’t have enough words to thank You for the love that You have demonstrated towards me, one time-for all time, while I was a sinner. Your love and mercy are limitless. Lord, I’m so grateful for Jesus Christ who was obedient unto the cross and then rose again so that I might live. In the matchless name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
