When God is Silent
Scripture: Psalm 44:23-24 Awake! Why do You sleep, O Lord? Arise! Do not cast us off forever. 24 Why do You hide Your face, And forget our affliction and our oppression?
Lord! We’ve seen Your power and messages written in the Word
You’ve administered favor, afflictions, and favor again, in order to be heard
Many heroes and victories are described in the Old and New Testament
Yet, it’s Your sight, might, and light that empowers our spiritual regiment
Only through You, we can stand against evil and our enemies
Only through You, we can maintain hope with divine amenities
Yet Lord, this season, you’ve casted us off and put us to shame
The favor and protection You once provided is no longer the same
Still, we revere and fear you as though nothing is different
Yet, sickness, death, and trials are heightened significantly
Yet, You are silent Lord while allowing constant trials and tribulations
We desire to hear from You through our pain, anguish, and desperation
Speak to us Father! Why do you hide Your face?
Our affliction is loud, yet silent in Your heavenly space
Still, we will continue to bow down and wait for what’s in store
Our ears and hearts are open, knowing Your mercy and love endures
Prayer: Lord, I understand that there will be seasons Your quiet. Yet, I remain encourage. Malachi 3:6 tells us that You will always remain the same. I will cling to that promise despite what I see physically. I anticipate trouble coming; however, I anticipate that You will be with me. Thank You for Your enduring love and mercy. I lift this prayer in the matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
