How Great Thou Art

Scripture:  Psalm 24:1-2 - The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it, for He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.

When I look at what God has made, yes even the cicadas, I’m amazed.  He has made lots of things we don’t like, but we have to live with them.  Who causes a bug to stay in the ground for 17 years and then reappears in groves? Nobody but Him!  When I think of all the fantastic things He has done, I can’t do anything but praise Him!  Look at the rainbow with its different colors when it appears in the sky. How beautiful it is to remind us of the promise He gave to us never to destroy the earth with water again.  Nobody but God can do that.   Man tries his best to duplicate things that God has made, and every time he fails.  He tries to make humans and fail.   God is awesome in all His ways!  I watch a lot of animal channels and am amazed at all of the different species there are -- even in the oceans and seas,  fish in different colors -- beautiful colors too.  Mammals that are different sizes and some are huge too.  Even the animals in the jungles, how they know when to migrate in such vast numbers.  I am in awe every time I watch these shows.  You know these animals are more obedient than humans.  The birds know when to fly south.  How Great Thou Art!  Of course, when He made man in His image, look at the different colors we are.  Red and Yellow, Black and White, we are precious in His sight.

Verse One to How Great Thou Art:
Oh Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds thou hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed

Chorus:
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee,
How Great Thou art, How Great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee,
How great Thou art, How Great Thou art.

Prayer:  Dear Lord, how I love how You created this world and all that is in it.  I am truly in awe.  Every time I see a rainbow in the sky, I start praising You because of the promise You gave to us.  Tears begin to fall.  Lord I love You and continue to praise Your holy name.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Amen. Great devotional. As much as I don't like bugs I, however, am amazed by them.

Amen, Sister Whye! God is the creator of everything. He is also in control of everything. Therefore, everything, both great and small, fits into His plan perfectly.
