Patience is a Virtue

Scripture: James 5:7-11 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. 8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. 9 Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be [c]condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! 10 My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. 11 Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

I’ve been challenged with circumstances that caused my hope to fade
Establishing patience with a good attitude strengthens me to wait

I’ve seen what the Lord has done in the past through Job and Joseph
Suffering was involved, but He always provided for His chosen

So why complain, test and challenges are administered through His name
I’ve experienced His compassion and mercy through each matter overcame

Unwisely, I am trying to rush something that I desire to last forever
Refusing to wait in storms that are meant for the Lord to weather

Why rush God’s timing, knowing His timing is not mines
His ways are mysterious, yet He protects me from blurred lines

So, I will wait, like a farmer who plants his fruit on earth
Patience validates my faith by preserving the harvest worth

I thank Him! I praise Him! My journey is worthwhile
Waiting confirms and secures my trust, afterwhile

Therefore, the Lord’s grace is a sufficient and fully abound
So, rather than counting the days, I am making the days count

Prayer:  I understand we develop patience through trials and tribulations. Yet, You have revealed in Your Word evidence of others who have waited on You. We can see many biblical characters who have suffered, failed, rushed, disappointed etc. In fact, our cycle of lack of patience is repeated. Forgive us Lord! Still, You remain the same. You walk with us. You are faithful. More importantly, You are patient with us. Therefore, we must develop this patience by relying on Your promises and biblical testimonies. Thank You Lord! We desire Your virtue. Strengthen us Lord! We ask these things in the name of Jesus. Amen!

Amen, Bro. Glenn’s. We believers are like teabags, someone has said; we’re most effective after being “steeped” in hot water for a bit!😁
