Covered!

Scripture:  II Thessalonians 3:3 (HCSB) - But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen and guard you from the evil one.

Life can be so uncertain sometimes. The year 2020 definitely drove that point home! From one day to another, we never know what’s going to happen – good, bad or indifferent. Many times, God protects us from hurt, harm, danger, illness and injury without us even asking … without us even knowing. To be quite honest, we take God’s protection for granted on a daily basis. In these times we are living in, we must remember to give thanks in ALL things (1 Thessalonians 5:18). No matter what happens in our lives, regardless of how bad we think it is, no matter what the Lord allows in our lives, HE IS FAITHFUL!!

Faithful by definition means loyal, constant, steadfast, unswerving, not changing of any details, etc. (Microsoft Bing Dictionary, Cambridge English Dictionary). That pretty much sums up our Lord! He never changes, He is immutable! Aren’t you glad He is not like us - His fickle, unfaithful children?? Aren’t you glad His ways are not like our ways and that His thoughts are not like our thoughts?? (Isaiah 55:8) He thinks of us higher than we think of ourselves and others – Thank You Lord!

The Lord strengthens us along the journey, He strengthens us for the journey. Scripture tells us that the enemy “walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8b) We must be guarded, we must put on (and keep on) the WHOLE armor of God! His armor may seem heavy but without it, we leave ourselves exposed – open for the enemy’s attacks.

Isn’t it amazing how our Heavenly Father keeps on keeping us? We may be in the midst of a trial or tribulation, we may be in some trouble that we ourselves may have caused, we could even be trying to run from Him/His calling on our lives … but yet He still chooses to bless us, keep us, provide for us, protect us, equip us, use us … all to/for His glory! It’s only because of His goodness and mercy toward us, WE ARE COVERED! And for this, we give Him praise!!

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your goodness and mercy! Thank You for covering us, for looking out for us babes and fools! You are so good to us! Through the good and the not so good, help us remember how good You are! Your Word tells us that You never leave nor forsake us – help us recall that Your promises are YEA & AMEN! Help us to praise You while we are going through. We know the end of the story … we know in the end, we’re gonna win! It’s all because of You, we have the victory! It’s all because of You and Your love for us, we are covered!! Thank You Father!! In Jesus’ Name we always pray … AMEN!
