Different For HIS Reason

Scripture: I Corinthians 12:20 (HCSB) - Now there are many parts, yet one body.”
There is beauty in the diversity of God’s people. He created each person with a specific purpose in (His) mind. We can’t fully operate as the body of Christ if everyone isn’t doing their part.
Take for instance the human body – many parts, one body. If the feet don’t do their part, the ankles, legs, hips, waist, etc. etc. etc. can’t do theirs. But when all the parts do what they are assigned to do, when they are exercised (hint hint), the body functions at its best! Well, the same applies to the body of Christ – if the gifts God has assigned to each member aren’t being used the way He called them to be, the other members are lacking; more importantly the body is lacking! If God has blessed you with a gift, no matter what it is, use it! Cultivate it! It’s important to the Kingdom. It benefits the whole body, and it brings glory to the One who graced you with the gift!
The closer we get to the return of Christ, the more and more I realize how important our gifts are. As we exercise them, build each other up with them, use them to God’s glory, we show the world that we are the called according to His purpose. We were chosen by Him to do HIS will! With His help and His strength, we can fulfill the call He placed on each of our lives.
Share your gifts! You never know whose deliverance, salvation … whose very life depends on it! And remember, ministry isn’t always seen. Behind the scenes ministry benefit the body just as much!
Prayer: Dear Father, thank You for how You chose to gift Your children, even me! Thank You for exhorting me to share my gift which bring You glory. I confess that I have not used my gifts as I should – whether a sin of omission or commission. I long to be a good representative of You. Any way You chose to use me is a blessing, an honor, and a privilege. Please allow me to be open to Your leading so that I can be the best example of the amazing God that I serve! In Jesus Name I pray, AMEN!
