Overcoming Opposition

Scripture:  Nehemiah 4:6-9 - So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together up to half its height, for the people had a mind to work. 7 Now it happened, when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the walls of Jerusalem were being restored and the [a]gaps were beginning to be closed, that they became very angry, 8 and all of them conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion. 9 Nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night.

Opposition makes itself known continuously
Therefore, I must seek the Lord continuously

Opposition is truly unfair and gets the best of most
That’s why it’s imperative to stand with a biblical approach

My stance must be vigilant, day and night
Opposition will not fall with merely my might

The attacks are coming steadily causing confusion
Lord, reveal Your spirit through supreme resolutions

How in heaven can I overcome these oppositions
The Lord gave me three revelations to take position

Number one, Prayer
The Lord says seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness
Rather than utilizing my power, I must rely on His faithfulness

Number two, Preparation
At times I may not be ready, yet the Holy Spirit is there
Opposition will not wait for me, nor is it reasonable or fair

Number three, Persistence
The Lord rewards those who diligently seek Him with honor
Therefore, no weapon formed against me shall succeed or prosper

Now, I’m putting my enemies, adversaries, and opposition on notice
From this point on, I will exercise a biblical approach with boldness

Prayer: I expect opposition. Yet, I expect You Lord to always be with me. I remember how You have delivered me from trouble. I remember when I was suffering, and you never left me.  I remember being at my worse, and You comforted me. I’ve experienced Your faithfulness through Your promises. You are so awesome! You are so wonderful! I worship You Lord in the name of Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
