Examine Yourself
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 13:5 - Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.
When was the last time you really examined yourself?
When was the last time you requested the Lord’s help?
What’s going on in your life that requires sifting?
What consequences you’ve suffered were self-inflicted?
What decisions you’ve made, where there’s regret
What situations are undealt with, where there’s neglect
Often, our decisions cause unwarranted entanglements
Free will can breed blessings or curses of endangerment
Examining ourselves will provoke spiritual considerations
Sifting and weeding out foolishness, poor choices, and temptations
I already know what’s good and bad for me
Therefore, I rather have what the Lord has for me
This involves me serving Him with sincerity and truth
Aiming to please the Lord will influence what I choose to do
So, I will self-examine my choices and revisit the ones I’m making
The world is appealing, yet the question is, will my Lord be forsaken?
Prayer: Lord, give me Your eyes. Allow me to see what’s unpleasing to You. I’ve failed You often. Have mercy on me Lord. The closer I am to You, the more I see what You see. Deliver me from my ways and replace them with Your righteousness. I’m coming to You in the matchless name of Jesus Christ.
