Demolishing Strongholds
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 - For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
What do I have to do to become fully free in Christ?
First, I would have to accept Him as Savior, and Lord of my life
As a believer, the way I live must be under the Lord’s control
No longer do I live according to instincts, thoughts, and feelings of old
Unforgiveness, bitterness, and anxiety are dangerous when exposed
Also, rage, pride, and fear are all elicited acts that are strongholds
Although these are behaviors seen in the world commonly
My standard relies on the Lord’s provisions and sovereignty
No longer do I rely on my own weaponry to defend myself
Arguing, contention, and disputes are replaced by God’s divine help
It all begins with the mind
It’s important to take every thought captive and leave the past behind
Next, I must deny my flesh and natural desires
Relying on the Holy Spirit to cultivate a righteous lifestyle
Lastly, the ultimate weapon that defends and contends against strongholds
While yielding to the Holy Spirit, the will of God is clear as challenges unfolds
Now, we are no longer enjoying only half, or a part, of an abundant life
We are more than conquerors basking in the fullness of the Lord Jesus Christ
Prayer
Lord, strongholds await me. Before concerns become worries, I’m asking You to save me. This mind of mines is doing too much. I am relying on the Holy Spirit to block, what may even feel or look good. If it goes against You, I rebuke it! Seal the cracks, fill the holes, and push out the chance of any sin before it spreads and get comfortable. Lord, I can’t do this alone. You told me to pray without ceasing. I’m coming to You Father, in the name of Your Son.
