For It was YOUR Mercy!

Scripture:  Lamentations 3:22 – It is the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.

Often, we go through trials or hard times.  Is it our reasonable service?  Jeremiah, referred to those times as dark times, not strange, though.  We use phrases, such as, “that almost took me out”, or “that almost blew me away”.  So, what prevented that awful event from killing everything inside of you, your hope, your faith, everything that keeps you alive?  What made the difference?  Jeremiah teaches us that it was God’s mercy.  God’s mercy is why you were not taken out or blown away.  The psalmist in Psalm 118:17, proclaimed, I shall live, and I shall not die.  For God wants us to declare His awesomeness, His work in preserving us.  I am still here, but now, I have another testimony of God’s keeping and staying power.  Hallelujah!  His greatness and faithfulness have been magnified once again.  Sad to say, you will hear many give an account of how it was their insight, intellect or even their luck.  They will say, “hey, that’s how I made it.”  I am like Jeremiah; after that blast of darkness, I know it was You, oh Lord!  I deserved death, but I’m still here because of Your unfailing and relentless mercy!!

Prayer:  Lord, can we ever thank You enough for the mercy You give to us daily.  We know we are guilty; and we are grateful that You are determined to love us beyond what we do against You.  How You love us even though we break Your heart on so many occasions.  Lord, You, allow our dark moments so we can recognize how GREAT Your mercy is.  Lord, it is because of Your provision that we can live and declare Your Awesome Work.  We say, thank You, Oh Lord!  In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
