Wrong Thinking Wrong Feelings = Wrong Actions

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

When emotions are out of balance, there are some things we will automatically do. We will have a pity party. We will blame God for our circumstances. We will say “if You didn’t allow me to be in this family, or marry this man or woman, my life wouldn’t have turned out like this.” Sometimes we get angry with the Lord. Yes, we get angry with God! We say “Why are You allowing all of these things to happen to me when I am trying to live right.” Emotions are real. We have to recognize that when they take control, it is sin. We have to call it what God calls it. I John 1:9 say “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I need to remember: When I come to the end of my rope, God is there to take over.

Depression is one of those feelings that come as a result of not handling or working through problems in a spiritual manner. It is a negative emotion due to self-defeating perceptions and
appraisals. It is a feeling of hopelessness, despair, sadness and apathy. Depression can be caused by physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual problems and CHRISTIANS CAN SUFFER WITH DEPRESSION! We have to learn to handle our problems God’s way if we want God’s results! Remember, in trials we will grow or self-destruct, get better or become bitter, become a conqueror or we will be conquered by life. Look around you and be distressed, look within
and be depressed, look to Jesus and be at rest. (Corrie ten Boom)

Prayer:  Today Lord is all that You promise me – yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not here so help me to find rest in You today. Yes, the world is getting crazier and this is not my home, so I have to choose to find my rest and peace in You alone. Thank You for being everything I need!!
