Acceptable

Scriptures: Psalm 19:14 -  Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Psalm 19: 7-14 -  The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8 The statues of the Lord are right rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover, by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward. 12 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. 13  Keep back YOUR servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O, Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

When reading these impactful verses, God reminded me of  2 Peter 1:20-21 - Knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 - for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
Here God Himself chose to use David a normal man from the Old Testament. God transformed David’s sinful life to be used greatly for His ultimate Glory.

David being used by a Holy God wrote that God’s law, God’s testimony, God’s statues, God’s commandment, God’s judgments and the fear of God is not to be taken for granted. For when you are exposed to God’s law, testimony, statues, commandment, judgements and have a reverence and godly fear toward God, then you can expect to be warned by the truth that is found in His Holy Word. This is why David a man who failed God, who was being transformed by God, could write being directed by God, that His Holy Word was finer than gold itself. God’s Holy Word was sweeter than honey and the honey comb. Moreover, by God’s law, testimony, statues, commandment, judgements and the fear of God, Your servant is warned and in keeping them there is great reward. David came face to face with his personal sins. What he was in his heart God exposed. His encounter with a Holy God brough him to a place of brokenness and repentance. God’s chastening, mercy and forgiveness caused him to pray, who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back your servant from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, and I shall be innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord my strength and my Redeemer.

Prayer: Eternal God in the name of my great king of glory Jesus I bow. You continue to use Your living Word to search me, to warn me, and to expose me to me.  Give me the strength daily to pray like David may the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O, Lord my strength and my Redeemer.
