Our God Is Personal

Scripture:  Isaiah 49:16  -  Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands…”

I once heard a popular preacher claim that if God had a refrigerator, the image of each of His elect children would be posted on its door!  What a comforting and true concept that is! Now  I don’t want to  sound irreverent like some who “reduce” the Lord God (as if they could) to being the “Man upstairs,” or their “B.F.F.,” (Best Friend Forever), because He is the El Elyon-- the Most High God, He is ADONAI-- Master over ALL, and Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh--the eternal, ALL-Sufficient God (Exo. 3:14); He is the eternally transcendent King of kings and Lord of lords! He is the quintessential Judge of the entire universe!   In the midst of His numerous names that point to His exhaustive plentiful excellencies, I am overjoyed that He is also the God who sees me and knows me—the El Roi-- who despite knowing each of us better than we know ourselves, loves, sympathizes, and empathizes with us more than we could EVER begin to comprehend!  Just meditate on that and praise Him for His matchless tender lovingkindness.  Be greatly encouraged by this fact today!      

The Holy God whose eyes are too pure to behold iniquity, desires that we draw near. He even sent Jesus, His begotten Son into this sin-cursed world to suffer the agonies of Calvary’s cross to make available  to every receptive soul the only divine means of acceptability to Himself—just so that we could each draw near to Him now and forevermore!  No other fact in this life is more astounding than that!
