Lord Use Me As You Will
Romans 12:6-9 – Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
Do you really understand the reason for being saved and left into the world to live life? God has given gifts to men and women for a distinct and special purpose that makes each one of us unique and special for His purposes. In God’s family these gifts are shared with us to not only get God’s business done, but they give us meaning and purpose in God’s Kingdom now. It is sad to see how many Christians in our churches miss fully believing and understanding the spiritual reality and potentiality we have been given in life.
When we understand that God’s actions and attitudes in the physical world are revealed through the power and abilities God has given to us, it should cause many of His people not only to embrace our importance to God in this world, but our importance to one another and the world as gifts from God. It is the ultimate purpose that the entity known as the “Church” or the “Body of Christ” has been left in the world to reveal Christ. The work of Jesus Christ in this world is directly tied to each of us that belong to Him.
Spiritual gifts are abilities that are given to each of us by the Holy Spirit upon salvation through faith in Christ as savior. They are graces to us not simply because we have received them, but they are unearned, unmerited, and unchosen by us. The gifts each of us have been given are God’s ideas and plans for what He has designed for us to express Him through our works and deeds (Matthew 5:14-16). They are the abilities to do the work of God for God in this world (Philippians 2:12,13).
Since giftedness is a fact for all of us, “let us use them”, or “exercise them accordingly”. As we seek to serve Him, we must always remember that God’s gifts must be used God’s way, according to His leading and His pleasure. One day we will all stand before Him to give an account for what we did, or did not do, with what He has given to us to use for His glory in this life (2 Corinthians 5:10). He promises to reward us when we allow Him to use us His way (I Corinthians 4:5; 2 Timothy 3:3-7).
Prayer: Lord, your call upon my life that brought me from the darkness of condemnation into the marvelous light of being your child fills me with gratitude and praise. I don’t know all the why’s for you doing this for me, but because I know You did, I want to do things for You as You see fit. Lord use me as You will, in Jesus Name.
