Jesus Love Me

Scripture:  II Chron. 7:14  - If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

There is a poem that says: “As children bring broken toys with tears for us to mend, I brought my broken dreams to God, because He was my friend.  But then instead of leaving Him in peace to work alone, I hung around and tried to help with ways that were my own.  At last I snatched them back and cried, Lord, how can you be so slow?  My child, He said, what could I do you never let them go.” We may all have experienced broken dreams, a broken marriage or an unexpected life of singleness, broken relationships or broken lives until we met Jesus.
As Israel looked around, they wanted change, but they became hardheaded and stubborn.  God used Jeremiah, directing him as the weeping prophet to go to His people to compel them to become obedient to the Word of God. The people responded by saying that they were helpless to change.  They said it was useless.  They stubbornly continued to follow the plans of their hearts.   The nation turned to idolatry.  They turned away from the Lord.

Yes, God has spoken. Brokenness not only leads to salvation, but as the Potter begins the educational process of conforming us into the image of His Son, God must use “divine discipline.” Hebrews 12:11 says “Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields a peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”  Divine discipline is an evidence of God’s divine love.  Oh what love the Lord is showing us as we begin to discern the divine discipline upon the Body of Christ before His coming. Question: Will you continue to be faithful to His divine assignment for such a time as this?

Prayer:  Precious Lord, Awesome and loving Father, I thank You for knowing all things about me. Thank You for Your chastening that proves Your great love for me. May I hear You and be obedient to Your divine assignment.
