Breaking and Entering

Scripture:  2 Corinthians 4:6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

The Lord breaks into our sanctuaries for various reasons
He removes what’s unpleasing, and replace what’s needed

There’s little light shining from the place I live
So, he breaks the areas that are spiritually dead
The Lord interrupts the stuff that disrupts and corrupt
So, He’s purposely forced to break up, in order to make up

Our brokenness is how the light gets in
It disables us from hoarding contentions, pride, and sin

Over time, this brokenness is also how the light gets out
It exposes God’s deity, while revealing what grace is all about

Yet, this forced entry causes discomfort, now I’m reachable
He breaks worldly pleasures and endeavors, now I’m teachable

My brokenness stumbles me, and humbles me
Now, my prayers are fervent with urgency and humility

Ultimately, creating an opportunity for a testimony
A before and after snapshot orchestrated for His glory

So, I refuse to keep this brokenness to triumph in privacy
I’m willing to share the mountains and valleys with transparency

Therefore, the cracks in my broken sanctuary are no longer a liability
My house is God’s home for His purpose, service, and ministry

Prayer:  Lord, thank You for Your continual grace. It’s never contained or limited. You know where my repairs are needed. Forgive me, Father! Fix me, Father! I will be careful to give You all the glory. In the name of Jesus!
