Excited About the Blood!

Ephesians 1:7 - In Him, we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.

Hebrews 9:22 - In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Revelation 1:5 - And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and ruler of the kings of the earth.  To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood.

There are many verses and songs as those listed above which highlight the importance of the Blood of Jesus.  It is, of course, an important element of salvation.  Without the blood there is no remission of sin.  A few years ago, I attended the BSOB (Baltimore School of the Bible) and there was an instructor by the name of Mr. Bittner.  He made a big deal about the Blood of Jesus; unlike what I had ever heard.  I had already accepted Christ as my Savior, so I understood that Jesus shed His Blood for me and that is how I am able to have relationship with the Father.  Of course, I knew that the Blood of Jesus wiped away all my sins which was the reason why I needed Jesus so badly; and I understood how the Blood was so important that it was represented on the communion table to be shared with the body of Christ for ages to come.  All of this and more was presented to me so many times and in so many ways.  But it was Mr. Bittner who gave me an awakening, a blast of reality, if you will.  He, simply pointed out the most simple idea:  The Blood gives/signifies life!  And of course, the other side of that phenomenal idea is that without the blood there is no life.  I don’t know; maybe to some, this is an elementary concept; so simple that it should have never moved me the way it did.  But I became alive to the idea of the importance of the Blood.  For because of Christ’s Blood, I am alive in Him!  True Life can exist in no other.  No longer am I able to sing nonchalantly the songs or read passages about the Blood of Christ the same again.  The very idea of the Blood of Jesus giving me life came to me like a force so comforting, amazing and exciting!  Christ dwelling in me!!  Bless the Lord on My soul!!

I was so on fire that I invited Mr. Bittner to teach at my former church; and as the temporary leader of the Evangelism ministry, I made an executive decision.  We will only pass out gospel tracks that made a big deal about the Blood of Jesus.

Prayer:  Lord, I thank You for those who You have strategically placed in our lives to accomplish Your purposes.  We bless Your Name for our salvation in You.  Please Lord, help us not to keep what You have given to us to share.  Your Blood transformed us into living creatures.   You are Great and Mighty in all the earth, and we give Your Name glory forever and ever!!  In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
