He Said Yes

Scriptures: (2 Chronicles 16:9 (a) For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.

(Job 1:7-12) And the Lord said to Satan, from where do you come?  So, Satan answered the Lord  and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” (8) Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?” (9) So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? (10) Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? YOU have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.  (11) “But now stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” (12) And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So, Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.

On December 31, 2019, Pastor Cockrell preached to his congregation and visiting guests that impactful challenge, God is Waiting in the New Year. (Isaiah 30:1-23). What a profound challenge for the believers’ heart and perhaps an unbelievers’ heart.  When the Lord speaks to His children, He certainly without a doubt is preparing the heart for what lies ahead.
Only three months in the New Year and we found ourselves faced with a Pandemic crisis that resulted from the Corona virus called COVID-19. A virus that has wreaked havoc throughout the whole world. No one is exempt, freed, excused or relived from this deadly virus. This virus attacked believers and non-believers, infants, children, adults, males and females. No matter what, Christ’s Authority Reigns.

Month after month we have read and heard of several sicknesses and deaths due to the deadly COVID -19 virus. Oh, fainting heart, are you personally finding yourself faced with the destruction of the COVID-19 virus? Perhaps it has caused you to be jobless, to be homeless, to be separated from family, to be alone because of the death of a spouse or a loved one. In spite of the overwhelming circumstances, Christ’s authority reigns.

Can you in spite of your pain and emotions remain loyal to God?  He is waiting for you to acknowledge that He said Yes to your painful situation. After all Romans 8:27-28 says Now He who searches the heart knows what the mind of the Spirit is because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.  (28) And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to HIS purpose.

Prayer: Eternal God my loving Father, in the name of my King of glory Jesus, I bow my heart and acknowledge Your sovereign will in my life. Unshackle those thoughts and emotions that war against Your authority. You said, that You will never leave me nor forsake me, You said, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you. May my love for You be greater than any pain that You have permitted in my life.
