My New Shoes

Scripture: Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Lord, I’m begging You!
Grant me new spiritual shoes to walk in my Lord
The ones that are already paid in full, that I couldn’t afford
You can sympathize with my pain, You walked in my shoes
The bumpy roads I’m walking through are giving me the blues
My shoes simply don’t fit
The sin in my shoes are splitting the seams and the stitch
I am here to restore, my mercies are new
My shoes require repairs, repentance, and renewal
Turn me away from the paths of evil and hurt
The bottom of my shoes is covered with mud and dirt
I know I’m undeserving, forgive me for the blemishes
But, those who seek the Lord are rewarded through His promises
I am aiming for the desires of Your heart, just like David
The style with love, peace, and joy are my all-time favorites
After all, I’m going to be seen by the world
New shoes will help minister to men, woman, boys, and girls
New shoes representing kindness, patience, and gentleness
Even, red bottoms with goodness, self-control, and faithfulness
So, I’m excited to walk in my brand-new spiritual shoes
I will be careful to share with others that this gift is given by You
Prayer: Lord, I often realize the way I choose to live, simply doesn’t fit Your criteria and standards. And often, I come to the place to see how much I need You to redirect me while continuing to make me new. Thank You for daily new mercies. Thanks for reminding me that I am Your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus. I come to You in the name of Jesus, Amen!
