No Other Name

Acts 4:12  - Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Philippians 2:9-11 - God has also highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

There are many famous individuals in the history of religious ideals. These people bear the names such as the Pope, Mohammed, Confucius, John Smith, and many such others. Each of them has a multitude of followers who identify with the name. Most assuredly, there is only one name that saves eternally. That name is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Peter wrote, “there is no other name whereby we must be saved. John wrote: he that has the son has life, he that has not the son of God hath not life. (I John 5:12) The apostle Paul wrote: …all those “that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ…shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.”  (II Thess. 1:8, 9) The fact remains that there is only one God and Creator of all men.  God is our Redeemer and Savior, who died for the sin of the whole world. No one, living or dead, can claim that truth.  The Lord Jesus said of Himself, “I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by Me.” (John 14:6) …” he who has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God is condemned already.” (John 3:18) “If you believe not that I am He, You shall die in your sins”. (John 8:24)

I urge anyone desiring forgiveness of sin and eternal salvation….come to God through His Son Jesus the Christ.  “He that believes on the Son has life: and he that believes not on the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God. (John 3:36). The Father has given all things unto His hand. (John 3:17)

Prayer:  Lord, my desire is to come to know and trust the hand of the one who is proclaimed in the Bible to be God’s Son, the Creator, and Savior of the world of sin -- the only name whereby sin is forgiven, and new life is gained.  Amen.
