Being Blind to the Truth About Our Hearts

Isaiah 29:13-14
13 Therefore the Lord said: “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths
And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me,
And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,
14 Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work Among this people,
A marvelous work and a wonder; For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish,
And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”

We can be proficient with religion
But miss the mark, without God’s provisions

Skillful at preparing the outer for others
While the real issues in our hearts are covered

Drawing near to the Lord with merely my lips
However, our hearts are where the truth lives

We are fake and dishonest with religious hypocrisy
The truth is inward, opposing worldly philosophies

It’s like wearing a costume posing as a Christian
Falsifying Gods favor with a performance that's religious

We are simply not honest about our hearts
It’s desperately wicked, while ending a start

One red flag is our attitude towards the Word
The volume of our presentation is unheard

It's like storing  past pain in a vault
Resisting the idea, it's our heart’s fault

The heart is our being that we keep quiet
An inner being that’s destructive like a riot

So, we come to You Lord for open-heart surgery
Remove what’s not of You and renew with urgency

Prayer: Lord, renew our hearts. Continue to direct me to Your truth. No longer we desire to add or take away from Your truth. The lies that reside in our hearts are persistence. Help me to resist them. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen
