Anchored in the Storm by the Word

Joshua 1:8 - This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

I have had the opportunity to go on two cruises.  How lovely and enjoyable were the trips and all of the amenities until a storm arose. When a storm arose my only concern was the lifeboats and would the anchor hold the boat!
Joshua 1:8 says “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”.    Jesus said ‘My words are living and powerful.” As we meditate – spend time quietly, listen, ponder on His truths and take self-inventory, we find our hearts sensitive and open to hearing what He has to say.

Life is so unstable and unpredictable, yet God’s Word becomes an anchor for our souls. His Word makes us steadfast and enables us not to break down under the weight of anything that attacks our faith. This hope and stability which the believing soul has is in the Lord Jesus Who alone is the anchor of our soul. Let the Word of God anchor you today so that no matter what storm is arising, Jesus will be your sufficiency.

Prayer:  Lord, even when everything around me seems to be falling apart, may my heart find its anchor in You and Your Word. I remember how You have kept me in the past and I choose to focus on Your power to keep me right now.
