OUR NATION AND THE ISSUES IT FACES: A Place of Wisdom And Walking With The Lord

45 Days of Praying for the Elections
SCRIPTURE: “Who among you fears the LORD? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD and rely upon his God. Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who equip yourselves with burning torches! Walk by the light of your fire, and by the torches that you have kindled! This you have from My hand: you shall lie down in torment.” Isaiah 50:10-11
In our world today we are faced with so much turmoil from many areas of society. We have wars, economic stress, family issues, famine, disease, illnesses and crime. Political agendas such as LGBTQ, abortion rights and same sex marriage, threatens to cripple our society and ruin the true family as God has ordained. The world looks to our political leaders and governments to help solve these issues and ease our tensions and stresses. They are failing! How do we respond?

Isaiah 50:10-11 is about having trust and confidence in God during times of darkness and adversity, trusting in His guidance and not relying on our own understanding. If we call ourselves children of God then we must first fear Him which leads to trusting Him completely, which ultimately leads to obeying Him. We need to carry with us the understanding that He is far more superior than any problem or adversary we may face. This reverential fear of the Lord should lead us to constantly be in prayer in asking God for His help and divine intervention. That He may pierce the hearts of our leaders. That they may seek His wisdom on the issues we face. Praying also for Christians to be more fervent in their prayers to God, for He said, “when His people humble themselves and pray, then He would hear them and heal the land.”

This verse highlights the importance of faith and trust in a higher power. It reminds us that when we walk with God and place our trust in Him for guidance, we are led towards a path of peace and contentment. We allow ourselves to be guided by a force that is greater than our own understanding by surrendering ourselves to the divine light and wisdom. (Proverbs 3:5-6) This surrender can bring about a sense of calm and assurance, knowing that we are not alone in our journey through life.

On the other hand these verses warn us against relying solely on our own strength and capabilities (Isaiah 50:11). When we don’t know what to do and don’t have the answers we walk in darkness and have no light to guide us. We don’t know how to respond and deal with the situation. When we try to control everything ourselves, we often find ourselves struggling and experiencing unnecessary suffering. If we continue as humans to be self-reliant and try to solve our own problems without seeking God’s wisdom and help, we will continue to experience failure and self-inflicted torment.

Remember Saints: Psalm 121:1-2, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.”

Prayer: LORD, I pray more Christians will seek Your face and pray for healing of our lands. We pray also that Your love, wisdom and provision touch the hearts of sinners and pierce their souls to repentance. Amen.
