CAUGHT Off GOD

SCRIPTURE: “Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” James 4:4
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24
I am sick and tired of being caught off GOD,
Satan’s subtle attacks and traps, I never saw.

There is no doubt, I have an available friend in Jesus,
However, I’ve realized my friendship with Satan carried more allegiance.

I am clearly cheating on the One who truly loves me,
An adulterer who settled with desires that are worldly.

Egregiously, pursuing worldly ways through spiritual unfaithfulness,
Hostile towards God’s truth by choosing a relationship that’s dangerous.

Certainly, some factors turned me on, yet they caught me off GOD,
Deceptions, distractions, and fleshly desires all played a significant part.

My eyes were fixed on personal feelings, status, pride, lust, and ambition,
Whether intentionally or unintentionally, I’ve broken the covenant relationship by appeasing the opposition.

I’ve made myself an enemy of my God by choosing another lover,
No one can serve two, for either he or she will hate the one and love the other.

Therefore, my realization of being caught off GOD has led me to a place of repentance,
I am confessing Satan’s deceptions, distractions, and desires have led me to emptiness.

PRAYER: What a friend we have Jesus! We are blessed to be able to call Him a friend. Thank You for being faithful, patient, and caring. Lord! Forgive us for allowing someone or something to take Your place. You are worthy of praise! In the matchless name of Jesus! Amen!

Where we are so quick to slide, Lord help us to abide, for in Thy word is certain life to rise above the tide. Throughout each storm, we have a friend whose heart and hand stay near. In patience find Him faithful friend, enough to find Him dear.
