SPIRITUAL ERs

SCRIPTURE: " but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen." 2 Peter 3:18
As you may have heard, not all churches are the authentic “spiritual emergency rooms,” that our Lord designed them to be. Their mission is not prescribing the new birth, genuine repentance from sin, and maturing in Christ, as 2 Peter 3:18 commands. Not surprisingly, the deity, soul-saving mission, and blood of Jesus, I read, have been largely removed from many modern-day sermons about Jesus Christ. “Comforting the masses” rather than “convicting the comfortable” (i.e., the spiritually lost) has become the preferred approach of many false teachers and so-called preachers.

The truth as it is in Jesus is seldom, if ever, presented in many of them. Jesus described the need best: “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick…for I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance [Matthew 9:12].” As sinners, we all need to trust the only real remedy and ongoing instruction provided by Jesus-- the Great Physician, and He uses His chosen preachers and teachers to administer His life-giving truth.

What can we do in a world where every point of view and opinion about any and everything, including salvation, is tolerated and endorsed, EXCEPT that of the Holy Bible, God’s Word? “ Inasmuch then as we [believers] have a great High Priest who has [already ascended and] passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us HOLD FAST our confession [of faith and CLING tenaciously to our absolute trust in Him as Savior].” See Hebrews 4:14, AMP.

PRAYER: Dear Father, as Your twice-born people, help us to guard our minds each step of this Christian journey, remain firm in this faith You’ve opened our understanding to receive, and to maintain a sound adherence to Your life-giving Word. Thank You humbly, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Thank you for this encouraging message. Often times, we can be reprimanded for making sinners feel uncomfortable; we should speak to make them feel comfortable and loved, don't speak of anything that would offend, just be happy for the material blessings and rejoice with them.
