Take Me Back, Lord

I have lost and misplaced focus, zeal, and direction,
I am searching for encouragement, conviction and correction.

I’ve grown complacent in my faith,
Salvation is settled, but I’ve lost my way.

It seems and appears, You are so far away,
As I draw nearer, it’s clear who moved away.

My iniquities, troubles, and trials continue to accrue,
I, others, and worldly resources are unmanageable without You.

So, Lord, take me back to the place where I accepted Your way,
Where Your grace and mercy influenced me to trust and believe today.

Take me back to the place where I was lost, broken, and empty,
Take me back to the place where I was found, delivered, and set free.

Take me back to the place where I was engulfed in my sin,
Take me back to the place where I confessed and repented.

Take me back to the place where I once relied on my limited self,
Take me back to the place where I realized my Savior, Redeemer, and Help.

Take me back to the place where I lived evil, lustful, aimless, and wicked,
Take me back to the place where I rebuked the old with the new with conviction.

Take me back to the place where I chased worldly status, success, and endeavors,
Take me back to the place where I pursued Your Word as the Kingdom became my treasure.

Take me back to the place where I delighted in temporary and harmful desires,
Take me back to the place where I made Christ the priority, and my faith was on fire.

There is no doubt You’ve brought me a long way from where I once was,
Please take me back to remind and revive my soul to serve Your divine cause.

PRAYER: You are worthy of all the praise, Lord! In the matchless name of Jesus!
