Caught Off GOD – Part 2

SCRIPTURE: “Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23 
“Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” James 4:4

Spiritual alertness must be a priority to avoid being caught off God,
To start, praying without ceasing is the command that keeps me guarded.

Deception through the father of lies can be hidden or right before my eyes,
Caught off God resorts to half-truths, false realities, and sin that's justified.

Caught off God overlooks God’s truth and spiritual fidelity over time,
While selfishness, jealousy, and opposing God are seen as a small compromise.

Satan is subtle and patient, but deadly,
He knows at some point, I will not be ready.

So, he uses persistent distractions to divert my focus from Christ,
He knows my weaknesses and worldly concerns that consume my life.

Satan keeps me busy, provides corrupt entertainment, and shifts my attention,
Distracting me by creating ill-advised considerations to hinder spiritual disciplines.

My cell phone alone disrupts focus and growth,
Anxiety and lack of sobriety hinder my spiritual approach.

Sadly, I was caught off God through deception and distraction,
Living outside the Spirit because the world became more attractive.

Meanwhile, my fleshly desires and worldly allegiance seek my submission,
Satan directly tempts me to catch me off God with divine permission.

I’m often targeted by pride, greed, lust, and Satan’s persistence,
His goal and thoughts are to sow discord and attack my spiritual vigilance.

The lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life,
He relishes unforgiveness and self-centeredness to cause strife.

Positioning himself to prey on weaknesses like anger, pride, or past hurts,
Creating a crack for entry to devalue God’s truth by making the world first.

The world encompasses human values, desires, and morals opposed to God,
Yet, believers know that seeking God's kingdom is the priority and where we should start.

So, I am tired of being caught off God by making myself an enemy,
I confess Christ has been second while the world became a friend of me.

Lord! I repent after conviction, prayer, and self-examination,
My loyalty has been divided while leading me to conflict and separation.

I desire a renewed commitment that includes Your rightful place,
Your Kingdom’s agenda is the priority as the world takes its limited space.

I must be diligent in pursuing God’s truth and righteousness,
Actively turning away from corruption with a clear consciousness.

Therefore, I am on guard to avoid being caught off God,
After all, the Lord will protect me, but I must do my part.

PRAYER: Create in me a new heart, my Lord. Place a fortress around me for protection from worldly influences. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for not allowing me to be comfortable in the world. Continue to transform me into what You want me to be.
