A Valentine's Day Card to Our Heavenly Groom

SCRIPTURE: "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish." Ephesians 5:25-27
A celebration meant to acknowledge love for a divine valentine,
The Lord Jesus Christ is the groom, and the church is the bride.

An intimate, permanent, and sacrificial relationship set for eternity,
A bride to die for, solidifying a union that’s sealed with love and security.

An opportunity for the church to celebrate Christ’s devotion towards His bride,
Taking what’s unrighteous and patiently cleansing us from the inside to the outside.

Presenting the church to Himself as pure, holy, and blameless without spot or wrinkle,
Just as in an earthly marriage, this gesture for a husband and wife, we should resemble.

Christ's plan is for His bride to become sanctified, justified, and pure,
A groom who never changes and keeps His promises for us to be sure.

That’s why You are our loving Valentine,
What You say is good for this time and all times.

While we wait for Your return, we, the church, are called to be faithful to You,
Depending on the Holy Spirit to lead us, as we comply with Your biblical truth.

As our Valentine, we honor and adore You,
As our Valentine, we praise and worship You.

There is no other lover, provider, or protector like You, our Lord,
Earthly marriages must take heed by making Christ part of their three-strand cord.

The benefits of You being our Valentine is a love that’s valued,
It does not envy, provoke, rejoice in iniquity, nor behave rudely.

In fact, Your love rejoices in the truth with the unfailing and unconditional love it brings,
Meanwhile, it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

So, will You please continue to be our Valentine forever and ever?
The love that You show us cannot be matched, replaced, or measured.

PRAYER: I do not have enough words to express my gratitude for the love You provide. You are an amazing God! Thank You, Father! In the name of Your Son.
