Are You Sure, Lord, This is For Me?

SCRIPTURE: “Then Gideon said to God, 'Let not your anger burn against me; let
me speak just once more. Please let me test just once more with the fleece.
Please let it be dry on the fleece only, and on all the ground let there be dew.'” Judges 6:39
Generations have always tested God, not for assurance, but demanding that He prove
Himself because of unbelief. We were presumptuous. Gideon called by God who
obeyed God’s challenge, had some emptying to do before Gideon could complete the
task assigned to him. What goes on in your thoughts and heart during the alone times
with God about His assignments? The “what ifs”, “why not”, or “Are You sure this is the
best way?”

The Lord really knows how to intrude into our so called “perfect” worlds and expand our
boxes about Him! Gideon was not presumptuous regarding God’s assignment, but he
needed one more method of assurance – the sign of the fleece (Judges 6:36-40). You
have entered into 2026 by the grace of God and He still has purpose for you to know
Him and make Him known. When you need further confirmation regarding His
assignment for His glory, ask the Lord because He knows what you need. That’s why I
love Him so, because He knows me!! He is a patient and compassionate Father who
meets us where we are, to take us to where He has assigned us.

PRAYER: El Shaddai, Almighty God You know the plans and purposes I am to fulfill for
Your glory. May this be a season of growing and deepening in my love for You that
even in fear and trembling I will choose to do Your will.

Amen, Amen! We can, in wholehearted faith, lay all our desires at His feet; He truly cares.
