Our Aim

SCRIPTURE: “Therefore we make it our aim whether present or absent to be well pleasing to Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:9
Are there times when you feel like you want to know how you are measuring up with Jesus on this side of eternity?  We understand that in Christ (His Work on the cross) we have already been placed in the Heavenlies (Ephesians 2:6).  However, we also are aware that there will be an official judgement conducted by our Lord (2 Corinthians 5:10) where He will give rewards for our measured service. The problem is only He can know us thoroughly. So how do we proceed in the Lord?  Hebrews 11:6 tells us that God is a “rewarder of them who diligently seek Him.”  Joshua 1:8 tells us that we are to “meditate day and night” on what God has said in order to have “good success.”

There!  God has given us our path and direction.  The struggle can only be on our end.  Are we truly seeking Him by meditating upon HIs Word?  We say we are His and we are aiming to please Him; however, are we loving in the manner He says we should love?  Are we giving Christ first and foremost reign in our lives and not our fragile easily offended egos? In order to win in this life, we must live in a manner that proves He is our Alpha and the Omega; the first and the last; yes, He is the beginning and the end.  He is our all in all! Hallelujah!

Now, If God is all of who we say He is, then we will pursue His Hand of Grace.  That is, to humble ourselves and submit (our responsibilities) to what He has said and has assigned our hands and hearts to do.  Our walk on earth becomes a letter, a testimony to those who see us, (at home, on the job, etc).  We know it is the fashion in how we believe and trust God that can rescue others from sin and death.  Therefore, we aim to please the Father with what we do with His Son all with the sent Helper, the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER: Lord, we thank You for the will and our choice to intentionally aim to please You! In and of ourselves, we are nothing, but in Your Christ we are victors and are triumphant over the enemy’s fiery darts and pot holes.  Help us not to be so easily drawn away from what is designed to interrupt our fellowship with You.  We want to live and have our being. pleasing and worshipping You, Oh Lord.  In Jesus’ Name-Amen!

AMEN, Sis. Lisa! Apart from His indwelling Holy Spirit we can do nothing! Our part is to continually yield. (No wonder He told us to pray without ceasing).
