Ask for Direction

SCRIPTURE: "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Matthew 6:33
"Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart."  Psalm 37:4
I do not know about you, but every time it is time to trust God, I have to ask God for direction.  I, seemingly, am lost.  “How do I trust You, oh God?” I forget how I did it in the past.  I must recall; yes, Lord, “Help me to remember Your past mercies and rescues.”  Even traveling the roads, I hate to be lost.  I have heard some say they love the adventure of trying to find their way.  This is not my sentiment, at all.  I readily and emphatically pull over and begin to use the GPS to assess my current location, to thereby, determine the direction I am to take  as soon as possible to reach my desired destination.

After we have delighted and God miraculously transforms our (selfish) desires to, ‘Thy will be done, Oh Lord’, we are to submit to the next verse (Psalm 37:5) which reads: “Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.”  It is nothing like being in prayer and God’s Word comes back to you.  God gives you His Word as the very answer to your prayer; and you are faced with exactly what you are to do…and it is simple, too.  Trust Him!  Hey, now!   That is renowned and even basic.  Philippians 4:6 greatly states, “Be anxious for nothing, but in all things by prayer, and supplication.  Let your request be known unto God; and the Peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

So whether you find yourself anxiously fighting to be free and forgiven for a (known) sin…or even if you are unable to escape consequences of a regretful action, God is able to give you the best path toward healing, restoration, and peace.  We know God is not willing that we should perish; He always wants us to prosper.  For we are His peculiar people that though we will find ourselves in the ebbs and flows of life, we shall triumph for His glory!  Hallelujah!

Remember, Christ promised us; yes, even those found in Him, would have troubles.  We understand that because He overcame the trials of this earthly life, we can and will, too.  Therefore, we do not worry, but we believe Him and believe we will see His goodness on this side of eternity.  Our life’s direction always comes from the One who promised never to leave us nor forsake us.  The One who is our Strong Tower; our Rock.  Yes, we run to Him who is able to love and protect us with His everlasting Love.  He is Our Lord, Savior, and King!  In Him, we find safety…Amen!

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for being our Saving Grace.  Thank You that You never change; and are always for us.  Help us to forever humble ourselves to trust You and to desire You to direct us in all our ways that we would bring You good Pleasure, Glory and Honor.  For You are the Lover of our souls; our Great Father and King!  In Jesus’ Name-Amen.
