Not Tonight, Satan

SCRIPTURE: “Be angry, and do not sin, do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.” Ephesians 4:26
Anger has the unhealthy potential to plunge its victim into bondage during seasons of change. When the Holy Spirit is after a heart change, submission to God’s will is the challenge. This absolute call for submission can sometimes cultivate an attitude of anger. Why? Because we are outraged when our finite will does not align with His infinite will and God refuses to answer petitions according to our expectations and timeframe. Have you ever been angry with the Lord? Let’s be real now because He sees your heart.

When these expectations are not met, we nurture the attitude that our carnal pursuits can override the sovereign purposes of the Creator. Therefore, slavery or bondage could ultimately be experienced and is defined as “the condition of being under some power, influence, or stronghold.”

God’s love and persistence will always outlast our resistance! Allowing the sun to go down on anger causes this emotion to perform as a tormentor. This type of anger is sin; it matters little if this emotion is directed toward the Creator or a fellow creature. God desires repentance: therefore, He permits this wrong response to be as an alarm system—something is wrong! The person who goes to bed angry has the devil for a bedfellow. Never take your enemies to bed with you.

PRAYER: Forgive me Lord and thank You Lord for forgiving and healing my heart when I have allowed the enemy territory. You are sooooo patient and I thank You for conforming me to Your image no matter what it takes!!
