In My Dressing Room (Putting on the Armor of God)

We begin February with devotionals based on our prayer list. For the next week our focus will be on  Dressed In the Whole Armor of God for Spiritual Warfare  from Ephesians 6:10-18. As Pastor Cockrell adamantly reminded us last month, Saints, meditate on this Word!
SCRIPTURE:  "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [a]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [b]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—" Ephesians 6:10-18
I am called to stand against evil, the evil one, and darkness,
It shouldn’t be a surprise considering I have a divine purpose.

However, without the Lord I am powerless,
My strength is secured through His faithfulness.

Yet, the Lord has made concessions for me to withstand,
My access to His might is tied exclusively to His demands.

I am commanded to put His armor on to fight the wiles of the devil,
But, it’s my choice to put it on to activate God's righteous level.

While, preparing for my adversaries, enemies, and oppositions,
My battle isn’t with flesh and blood, but in a spiritual realm against wickedness.

Meanwhile, spiritual warfare is attacking from all directions,
Taking up the whole armor of God is required for His victorious objective.

Therefore, I will put on the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness,
Next, I will put on the shoes of the gospel of peace and the shield of faith with boldness.

Then, I will put on the helmet of salvation and pull out the sword of the Spirit,
Praying to the Lord for wisdom and positioning myself to hear Him.

Now that I am under the influence of the Spirit with heavenly assistance,
I can watch for the enemy while in His armor in a better spiritual position.

Being watchful and diligent, I will remain in prayer whether I am weak or strong,
My petitions are made before, during, and after my armor is put on.

Prayer:
Thank You Lord for equipping us for evil attacks. You know exactly what we need for spiritual warfare. Even when we are weak, with You, we are strong. In the matchless name of Jesus, Amen
