SCRIPTURE: “He leads me beside the still waters…3b He leads me in the path of righteousness for His name’s sake Psalm 23:2b, 2b
On Sunday, June 15, 1986, the Meadows family visited the League being invited by Pastor Robert Williams, and his beautiful wife, my friend, Marsha Williams. Even though this was our first visit hearing the young Pastor Wayne Cockrell preaching from the Holy Word of God, we personally knew that we would be coming back to the League. Sunday after Sunday, the Meadows family was led to visit Genesis Bible Fellowship Church. We loved participating in praise and worship plus giving to the general offering for the new church. The Holy Word of God was being preached, precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little there a little as written in (Isaiah 28:10-13). Our Sunday visitations were so frequent that several members knew us by our name.

The Lord continued to impact our hearts with the challenge to leave our former church and become members at Genesis Bible Fellowship Church. We sought the Lord earnestly in prayer, seeking Him for guidance regarding our decision to leave our former church. Obedience to the Father’s will was far more important than to remain with our family and friends at our former church. The decision was final, the emotions were there however, we left our former church and became members of Genesis Bible Fellowship Church, October 1986, because there was work to be done.

Saints, the scriptures teaches us in 1 Samuel 15:22(a) “to obey is better than sacrifice.”  The LORD led Moses to the Burning Bush however, it was necessary because there was work to be done.(Exodus 3:2-5) The LORD spoke personally to Abraham led him out of his country because there was work to be done (Genesis 12:1-4) The angle of the LORD spoke to Gideon, gave him a sign, because there was work to be done. (Judges 6:21-28) Jesus personally visited Martha and Mary’s home, led Mary to sit at His feet, because there was work to be done. (Luke 10:38-41) The LORD led Paul to the Damascus Road, placed him down on his face, spoke to his heart, because there was work to be done.(Acts 9:1-6) .
The one act of obedience has caused us to experience many years of personal change and growth . Serving in several ministries within the church, watching and seeing several descendants come to a saving knowledge of accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord . This has been the highlight of our faith, If you ask us why did we come to Genesis the answer will still remain the same, it was necessary because there is still work to be done.

“He leadeth me, O blessed thought
O words with heavenly comfort fraught
Whate’er I do, where’er I be
Still ‘tis God’s hand that leadeth me
He leadeth me, He leadeth me
By His own hand He leadeth me
His faithful follower I would be
For by His hand He leadeth me
